Inspiration Fridays: Erin Fetherston
Today I’m answering the question, “Where do you get your inspiration?” I tend to be inspired by beautiful images (fashion photoshoots, french architecture, vintage portraits, travel landscapes), aromas (full bodied wine, fresh flowers, scented candles) and music. I’m actually listening to Mozart as I write this post…I love how music can make you experience different emotions simply by changing the tone and energy of the melody. When I’m writing or editing photos, I love to listen to jazz, classical music or instrumental versions of songs from artists like Adele. I find that it allows my mind to concentrate without any distractions. On the other hand, there are times when I love to listen to top 40 hits and belt out the lyrics/dance around like a wild woman (Sorry Tim lol.) Inspiration is often a unique and personal thing. What suits one may not suit the other. Today I’m featuring photos from clothing designer, Erin Fetherston. These are shots of her walking in her mother’s garden. This garden in Napa Valley inspired her entire Spring 2016 collection. Erin states “When I was working on the beginning stages of Spring 2016, I spent a long weekend at my parent’s home in the Napa Valley. Spending time in my mother’s garden helped me sail away to a special dreamworld of fragrant roses and clear blue skies that ultimately created the foundation for a spring collection of pastoral prints and homey nostalgia.” Erin’s line is the ultimate feminine fairytale. She specializes in whimsical clothing and apparel. What I learned from Erin is that inspiration will only come when you’re doing something you enjoy. Find some time for what you love this weekend and enjoy your own taste of lovely inspiration. Until sun beams find you tomorrow morning…stay CHIC!
