When we arrived at St. Mark’s Square that day, the sun was shining and the sky was a magnificent shade of blue. It was a gorgeous day in Italy! As we approached the epicenter of Venice, the tiny hairs on my arm stood up and I felt a rush of excitement flow through my body. I’ve always been the type of person who gets goosebumps and let me tell you, they were in full effect as we took our first steps in this grand square. The Basilica was large and impressive and the architecture that surrounds the square was nothing short of amazing! There were statues on rooftops, gondolas rocking on the shoreline and pigeons soaring through the air. It was everything that I imagined it would be…and more! After gleefully prancing around for a while, we spotted a gelato cart. It had been a few hours since our last indulgence (we went overboard with the gelato lol), so we decided to go for it! I chose a strawberry/mango combination which was absolutely delicious! I had to act fast to get my shot as my tasty concoction immediately started to melt in the hot Italian sunshine. It was the same bright sunshine that led me to the idea of using vintage presets for my edit. I imagined a sun-drenched look with lots of light leaks and bright colors. I used the “Saint Tropez” Preset along with a number of Light Leaks from The Vintage Collection to achieve the final product that you see above. If you’ve been following the blog, you must know that I am a vintage photo junkie! I am absolutely in love with this look and I can’t wait to use it in future posts. Until my next travel diary, sweet dreams until sun beams find you!
