This beautiful street in the Saint Germain neighborhood of Paris was my home for two months earlier this year. Walking up and down this street every morning was definitely one of the highlights of the summer. Paris provides a dazzling backdrop for portrait photography! There aren’t many places in the world where you can just walk out of your apartment, snap a few shots and get images like theses. It’s locations like this that really fuel my love for editing portraits. The first thing that I do when I’m selecting one of my Lightroom Presets is I examine the dominant colors in the photo. I identify if the image has cool tones (blues, greens, grays, etc), or warm tones (yellows, reds, oranges, etc). In this case, the natural color palette for this shoot was definitely cooler. The streets, doors, and architecture all gave off that lovely cool Parisian look. I wanted to use a Lightroom Preset that would compliment all of the cooler tones in the photos so I chose the “Boho Chic” Lightroom Preset from The Portrait Collection. Boho Chic is a delicate combination of temperature adjustment, tone curve, split toning, luminance and vignetting. I also used some of my Chic Brushes from The Brush Collection to whiten my teeth and balance out my complexion. Take a look at the before & after transformation below!
