In Southern California, just a few hours from Los Angeles, you’ll find this magical little oasis in the desert. Joshua Tree is a tiny little national park with some of the most interesting landscapes I have ever come across in my travels. These shots were taken at the Cholla Cactus Garden just a few minutes before sunset. These strange, alien-like cactuses were the perfect backdrop for a bohemian inspired Chic Presets photo shoot. The cacti played nice and didn’t bother us while we were shooting, but I can’t say that the positive relationship continued as we walked back to the car. As I made my way through the patch I accidentally kicked up one of the smaller cacti balls with my boot and it ended up lodged in the side of my leg. Ouch! Without thinking I reached down to pull it out and ended up stabbing myself a second time. Double ouch! After a few seconds of panic, we eventually found two large rocks and used them to safely pull it out of my leg. I was left with 16 tiny puncture wounds and a hell of a story to tell. That’s how much I love photography, I’m willing to bleed for it! Haha!
I wanted to give these shots a cinematic look so I used a Lightroom Preset called “In Panavision” from The Film Collection for the edit. It makes everything look silky smooth and vibrant, just like in the movies! Check out the before and after photo below! The collection that I used today is also available alongside 12 others in The Complete Collection, which features 530+ beautiful Chic Lightroom Presets and Brushes! Enjoy all of the boho goodness below and don’t forget to check out the shop for more before and after examples!
